Welcome to Duke Research in Engineering and Surgical Technologies (Duke REST)! This research collaboration brings together surgeons, engineers, and human factors researchers at Duke University to study some of the most challenging problems that exist with surgical devices. Duke REST was formed in January 2017 between the Department of Surgery and the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science. As a research group, Duke REST partners with academia and industry to study and further surgical technologies, including robotics, instruments, and data analytics.
Duke REST is always looking for new students and research collaborations to lead projects. If you are an M.S. or Ph.D. student in the Pratt School of Engineering and would like to know more about the current/future projects, email Professor Brian Mann. Additionally, any Undergraduate, Medical Student, Resident, or Faculty member that is interesting in collaborating with Duke REST should email Dr. Zani (clincial contact) or Professor Mann (engineering contact).
